The Poultry Biology Book

One of the purposes of this book is to help broaden our perspective of the poultry meat and egg industries. The book provides factual information on how chickens are farmed and it discusses in an unbiased way some of the controversial and sometimes misunderstood topics in farming, the environment and food safety. It tries to give a balanced view.

The topics are presented in a way which we hope will be useful to you. The sections of the book have been arranged so that they fit into the biology curriculum and there is emphasis on learning through experience from sixteen student studies exercises. The exercises can be copied for student use.
