RMP's: Under the Animal Products Act 1999, primary processors of eggs are required to register a Risk Management Programme (RMP) before commencing processing. An RMP is designed to identify, control, manage and eliminate or minimise hazards and other risk factors so that the resulting Animal Product is fit for intended purpose, under Part 2 of the Animal Products Act. Primary processing includes egg production - laying and grading, as well as packing of whole shell eggs.
The NZFSA Verification Agency has produced revised information relating to verifiation of egg producer RMPs. The updated costs for the year of 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011 are as follows:
